I recently graduated from the American University of Armenia with an MBA degree. With over 5 years of experience as a supervisor in the banking sector, I am now a passionate researcher and a PhD candidate in Economics. In addition to my academic pursuits, I am starting a business focused on providing services.
During my work as a supervisor, I led a team of more than 15 people. My responsibilities included not only ensuring high-quality work but also providing advice on how to work more efficiently. I aimed to support my team with my experience while maintaining a friendly atmosphere, so everyone felt comfortable asking questions without hesitation.
My main strategy involved guiding team members to the right solution by asking insightful questions. This approach helped them understand the issues deeply and encouraged them to find solutions on their own. I believe this method is effective because it empowers team members, instills confidence, and ensures they remember how to solve similar problems in the future.
The main way I stay connected with the industry is by engaging with professionals in the field. At the university where I am pursuing my PhD, I have interactions not only with representatives from the Economics Department but also with researchers from various disciplines. Participation in conferences and seminars provides opportunities to discuss new approaches and trends in the industry. This helps me stay informed about developments and innovative ideas across different areas.
Managing a business is a challenging and continuous process of improvement. To support this, I read relevant policies and procedures, conduct SWOT analyses of similar businesses, meet with representatives from related organizations, and keep up to date with news pertinent to my industry.
